Did you say hermit crab races? Yes we did! For the past 21 years, CRABS on the beach has been entertaining our smaller guests from around the world free of charge in our playground.
ABOUT OUR NASCRABS
We race purple pincher hermit crabs (which we sell in our gift shop) native to Hondurus and Chile. Unlike the ones you see or have caught in the water at our beaches, these hermit crabs live in trees near the ocean. Each night they climb down and make their way to the shoreline to hunt for food. When they have had enough to eat, they will climb out of thier shells, rinse themselves and their shells off in the water, then climb back in and make their way back home. They will spend the entire day in the shade and safety of their shell and treehouse. Would you believe that these hearty little crustaceons can live up to 30 years in their habitat? Cool Huh?
We will honor the following schedule EXCEPT WHEN: 1. There's Lightning 2. It's Raining 3. It's too cold (Below 70 degrees) HAPPY RACING!!
Come out and see the stupidous thing you've ever seen!
